We are in an emergency."

Heads of councils in Judea and Samaria demand to start an emergency plan to deal with the dangerous roads, where serious traffic accidents occur every day.

Yesterday (Tuesday) three serious accidents occurred near Avni Hefetz, which miraculously ended without fatalities, and this is an almost daily occurrence.

In a letter sent by the head of Binyamin Council, Israel Gantz, to Prime Minister Yair Lapid and Defense Minister Benny Gantz, upon the conclusion of the swearing-in ceremony for the late Matan Zinman, who was killed in a car accident last week within the council's boundaries, on Route 60, he demanded that immediate steps be taken to save lives on the road.

At the same time, Yesha council head David Alhaini sent a letter on behalf of the heads of the councils in which he demanded an urgent discussion regarding the illegal driving on Yesha roads within a few days.

The Binyamin Council stated that at the beginning of the year, 285 traffic accidents took place on the section of Highway 60 in Binyamin, claiming the lives of six citizens and injuring 322 in various degrees.

"This morning we woke up from Shava for the sweet 6-year-old boy Matan Zinman, who was killed last week in a horrific car accident on Route 60, when a Palestinian driver went on a rampage with her car, and collided with the family car," wrote Israel Gantz. "It's sad to say this, but the address was on the road .

Matan could be with us today and go up to grade 1 if it weren't for two major failures of the State of Israel that you have the ability to bring to their dire solution."

According to the report of the Knesset's research institute, the state stands in utter inaction in front of Palestinian drivers, as far as enforcement is concerned.

"About half a million traffic reports have not been paid, it is not possible to remove life-threatening vehicles from the road, enforcement cameras are not installed, and more."

In addition, he noted that the roads in Yosh suffer from decades of neglect, and the narrow roads are not suitable for the required capacity, "the narrow road is not suitable for the required capacity and is extremely unforgiving to driver mistakes and routine breakdowns.

The road does not distinguish between blood and blood.

The lives of all road users are in danger.

There are procedures that are being promoted on the subject, how they are far from sufficient - neither in the schedules nor for all sections of the road.

The price of these delays is real human life," Gantz noted.

"We are in an emergency"

David Alhaini also demanded urgent attention to the absurd situation on the highways of Israel. In a letter to Defense Minister Benny Gantz and Minister of Internal Security Amr Bar Lev, he demanded Paul stop the carnage on the roads of Judea and Samaria. "In recent years, we have witnessed wild driving on Israel's roads, mainly by drivers and prisoners The Palestinian Authority. Sometimes these offenses end in disasters and deaths. We must not accept this situation as fate. A broad plan is required to deal with this danger in depth, in the area of improving infrastructure, increasing the mobility of the police and enforcement," he wrote.

"In light of the importance of protecting the lives of all travelers on the region's roads, I would like to request that you hold an urgent discussion on this issue with the cooperation of the heads of the authorities from the region and professionals," Alhaini added.

In such a discussion, he wrote, it is necessary to "present practical actions related to increasing deterrence in various ways, such as a general order to confiscate vehicles for traffic offenders, surveillance and synchronized information between the security authorities about drivers who are residents of the PA, effective legal treatment, and more.

We are in an emergency.

We must stop the next accident."
