As a symbol, the collapse of two grain silos in the port of Beirut last Sunday illustrated the deleterious effects of the inertia into which Lebanon is sinking, instead of facing the consequences of the disaster which bled his capital two years ago.

On August 4, 2020, hundreds of tons of ammonium nitrate, carelessly stored in a port hangar in full view of the authorities, caused one of the largest non-nuclear explosions in history, devastating half of the city, killing at least 215 people, injuring 6,500 others and leaving 300,000 Beirutis homeless.

Since?

Nothing.

Material damage still visible even if it fades little by little, the life and the taste of the party which regain the upper hand among the youth, but an intact collective trauma, which no sketch of justice has come to appease.
