On video: drone footage of the volcano eruption in Iceland (photo: Bjom Steinbekk)
Dramatic photos showing bubbling lava inside a volcano appeared on social media and went viral.
The video was originally taken by a drone after the eruption of the Fagradalsfjall volcano in March 2021. The volcano erupted after 781 years of being dormant, and the volcanic activity lasted for six months.

Local residents, including Bjorn Steinbeck, a drone photographer, came to photograph the spectacular sights.
Steinbeck told Newsweek that the video was shot in late April 2021, when the chemicals in the lava created a silver texture on the lava and the mountain's crater.
The video went viral last year, but was shared again in March 2022 - a year after the outbreak, claiming that it was footage that had not been seen before.
The eruption happened 40 km from the capital of Iceland Reykjavik. Iceland, which is known as "the land of fire and ice", is the most active volcanic area in Europe.
