Reykjavik-Sana
A volcano near the Icelandic capital Reykjavik has erupted for the second time in a year, spewing lava and smoke into the air.
Reuters quoted the Icelandic meteorological office as saying: "The volcano erupted on Mount (Vajradalsvl) near the capital, Reykjavik," without giving further details.
Videos showed lava and smoke rising from the volcano.
Last year, the same area witnessed a volcanic eruption as well.
The Reykenes Peninsula is a hot volcanic and seismic spot southwest of the capital, Reykjavik. In March of last year, lava erupted in an amazing rush from a fault about 700 meters long, and volcanic activity continued in the area until last September.
