Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian stressed that respecting the territorial integrity of countries is within the accepted principles of international law, and therefore Iran's support for the one-China principle is self-evident.
The Iranian news agency IRNA quoted Abdullahian as saying in a tweet on Twitter today that America's provocations are a source of threat to international peace and stability, in reference to the visit of US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan yesterday, which provoked strong responses from China.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said at a press conference after attending a meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization's Council of Foreign Ministers that the one-China principle is the consensus of the international community, the political basis for China's exchanges with other countries, the core of China's fundamental interests, the red line and the insurmountable dividing line.
