Minister of Internal Security Amr Bar Lev today (Wednesday) rejected Defense Minister Benny Gantz's request to stop placing female soldiers in the Security Service with security prisoners, because according to him this can only be done by changing the law. Gantz's request was passed against the background of the claims of female prison guards They were sexually assaulted by terrorists.
Bar Lev noted a recently published IDF report, according to which the female prison guards are satisfied with the conditions of service. "The team
was impressed that all the prison service servants are satisfied with their service and even feel pride in the service they
perform.
Thus, most of the servants expressed their willingness to continue serving in the prison service on a permanent basis."
Later on in the report, published in May, the committee determined that "the servants even stated to the inspection team that they are briefed on sexual harassment when they are accepted into the unit, and are well aware of the prison staff in their unit."
