Herrsching – In the future, parents will have to pay higher fees for the care of their children in the Johannes A. Wunder community kindergarten in Herrsching.
On the one hand, this is intended to reduce the deficit and, on the other hand, to adjust the costs to those of the other care facilities in the community.
At the last meeting, the municipal council decided to increase the fees in stages from September, taking into account the income of the parents.
Shortly before the decision is made, the parents' council is still influencing the new regulations for meal allowances.
The family income is taken into account in the kindergarten fees in Herrsching
Treasurer Miryam Goodwin presents the municipality's figures and cites the increased costs for staff and heating as the reasons for the planned increases.
It underpins the planning with comparative figures from other kindergartens in the town and district of Starnberg, some of which are higher and independent of income.
With the proposed increase, it is possible to stretch the increase in fees over years.
Monika Spindler from the Parents' Council speaks for the parents of the kindergarten children.
One recognizes the economic necessity of the fee increase.
But the significant increase of 100 euros in two years really hurts.
In addition, the fact that this will already be requested in September.
She would like the increase to be more predictable and tolerable for families and criticizes the fact that the meal allowance should also double within two years.
"The decision was always pushed back," Mayor Christian Schiller explains the increase, which is now "a gap".
He also addresses the tense staffing situation in the community kindergarten.
Nevertheless, no groups have to be closed in the facility, as is the case elsewhere.
Instead, there are only reduced booking times and it will probably be possible to hire trainees in September.
Increase in fees by around 10 percent starting this year
The council is in favor of the staggered user fees worked out by the Treasury on the basis of the gross family income.
It is the first in more than four years and is around ten percent in September 2022, 2024 and 2026.
Gross family income is classified up to EUR 40,000 (previously EUR 31,000), up to EUR 64,000 (previously EUR 50,000), up to EUR 90,000 (previously EUR 70,000) and from EUR 90,000 (previously EUR 70,001).
According to the decision, the registration fee will be increased from 10 euros to 30 euros and the meal allowance to 70 euros from September 2022, to 85 euros from 2023 and to 100 euros from 2024.
From 2026, the council wants to review the fees annually.
