Is an end to the bull heat in sight?
Munich – The sun is currently beating down mercilessly on the state of Bavaria.
Temperatures rise to a new high every day.
Happy those who can spend their working day in a cooled office and don't have to work in the direct heat.
A heat wave currently has Bavaria firmly in its grip.
Is cooling already in sight?
When will the heat wave end in Bavaria?
Hold on for a few more days
In the past few weeks, one heat wave seems to have followed the other.
Of course, temperatures above 30 degrees are not uncommon in summer, but when the thermometer rises above 35 degrees, the heat quickly becomes an ordeal.
The high temperatures can quickly become dangerous, especially for older people.
They often forget to drink enough and can then suffer from heat stroke, which can lead to death.
The Augsburg environmental researcher Elke Hertig knows that every degree more increases the mortality rate.
In addition, the heat and above all the constant solar radiation promote the formation of ozone.
The odorless gas, which many probably only know from the ozone hole, can also cause serious damage to health.
15 percent of the population in Germany has serious problems if the concentration is too high.
This particularly affects people with previous exposures such as asthmatics and people who suffer from COPD.
The extreme peaks in ozone levels have decreased in recent years.
On the other hand, the average value and thus the permanent load continue to rise.

Thunderstorms and temperature drop at the weekend
Friday marks the end of the heat wave.

But thunderstorms are already approaching the Free State.
In addition it will be windy.
The DWD writes: “Wind shifting from south to north-west, refreshing with strong gusts in some places.
In the event of thunderstorms, there is a risk of severe gusts of wind.” Thunderstorms, hail and storms are possible on Saturday night.
Saturday starts with rain in the south and cloudy in the north.
Temperatures drop by almost ten degrees.
Under the rain clouds, Kempten and Berchtesgaden only reach 23 degrees.
Munich with 25 degrees is in the middle.
Only in Lower Franconia does the sun still shine undisturbed.
Nevertheless, the temperatures drop to 27 degrees here as well.
Thunderstorms are possible over the weekend and it will continue to get colder.
A new heat wave will not build up until the middle of next week.
