Candidate number two has been nominated: In Fahrenzhausen, the CSU has now also sent a mayoral candidate into the race for the highest office in the community – an ex-mayor.

Fahrenzhausen

– The CSU Fahrenzhausen has found a candidate for mayor: On Tuesday evening, 19 members in the SpVgg Kammerberg sports club chose 51-year-old Günter Fuchs as the candidate to succeed the incumbent Heinrich Stadlbauer (FBL), who died unexpectedly.

Fuchs is a man who has already gained experience as a mayor.

CSU municipal councilor Astrid Wildgruber-Bolesczuk was reserved to propose the candidate: Since the news of Stadlbauer's death, there have been many discussions within and across parties.

There was agreement on what the community needs now: a person "who has administration in his blood", who has experience in local politics and who takes people with him and leads them.

With Günter Fuchs they found just such a person.

Fuchs wants to “expand Fahrenzhausen as a livable and lovable community”

In his introductory speech, Fuchs himself formulated the goal of developing Fahrenzhausen “as a livable and lovable community”.

He didn't want to be "a temporary solution," as he emphasized.

He wants to implement the approved and upcoming projects - building a new town hall, building a new gym, refurbishing the multi-purpose hall or preparing for the introduction of all-day school from 2026 - step by step.

He relies on good cooperation with all groups and organizations, he stands for the "establishment of an efficient work structure in the town hall".

It is an "affair of the heart" for him to have "an ear to the citizen".

In short: "Together we will prepare Fahrenzhausen for the future." Because: "It's about the most important thing we have: It's about our homeland."

The candidate is currently the manager of the municipality of Reichertshausen an der Ilm

Fuchs' homeland is of course neighboring Petershausen, after the first years of his life Fuchs moved to Pfaffenhofen.

The trained administration specialist worked in several municipalities as a senior civil servant.

In 2008, at the age of 37, he was elected mayor of the municipality of Petershausen.

In the 2014 election, he was unable to defend his office, losing to his challenger Marcel Fath (FW) in the run-off with 54 to 46 percent.

In 2020, Fuchs made a new attempt to regain the executive chair in Petershausen, but failed again in the runoff election to Fath, who won 61.2 percent of the votes.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

So now the next attempt by Günter Fuchs, who is the CSU faction leader in the Petershausen municipal council and is currently the manager of the municipality of Reichertshausen an der Ilm.

Final spurt in the search for Fahrenzhausen's mayoral candidate: FDP councilor from Hohenkammer in conversation

Not only all 19 present CSU members from Fahrenzhausen were convinced that Fuchs was the right candidate, but also the CSU member of the Bundestag Erich Irlstorfer.

He knew Fuchs from the time when Petershausen was still part of his federal constituency, as an expert, but above all as someone who worked in a solution-oriented manner across party lines.

Fuchs stands for an active community of citizens and is characterized by his connecting nature.

Fuchs brings heart and mind together, proposing him as a candidate was "a wise decision": With the 51-year-old there is "a chance for Fahrenzhausen to make a new start".

Even before Fuchs had officially accepted his election, the local CSU chairman, Christian Hermann, presented him with a bouquet of flowers.

By then Fuchs could no longer say no.
