The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) has criticized the visit of US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan, describing the move as "brazen interference" by the United States in China's internal affairs.
"The current situation clearly shows that the brazen interference and deliberate political and military provocations of the United States are indeed the root cause of harming peace and security in the region," the official DPRK news agency quoted a DPRK Foreign Ministry spokesman as saying, adding that "Taiwan is an inseparable part of China and the Taiwan issue." related to China's internal affairs.
The spokesperson stressed that the DPRK "strongly condemns any interference by an outside force in the Taiwan issue and fully supports the just position of the Chinese government to firmly defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity," stressing that the US plot to destabilize China's growth and development and its efforts for reunification is doomed to failure.
China earlier strongly condemned Pelosi's visit to Taiwan, stressing that it is a serious violation of the "one-China" principle and undermines peace and stability in the region.
