Susann Röchert has been working as a hairdresser in Starnberg for around two decades.

Now she has taken the plunge and opened her own salon on Maximilianstraße after Florian Schlicht gave up his shop.

Employee Sonja Lindner took over the 36-year-old right away.

Starnberg – Although Susann Röchert only opened her hair salon “Haarliebe” at Maximilianstraße 21 in Starnberg a few days ago, her calendar for the coming weeks is already full of appointments.

"I think that's because I already have many regular customers," says Röchert.

The decision to become self-employed was spontaneous.

About 20 years ago, the 36-year-old began her training as a hairdresser in Starnberg - and has remained loyal to the district town ever since.

"I've worked at Salon Sasa, also on Maximilianstraße, for the last 19 years," says Röchert.

Most recently, the master hairdresser worked as a salon manager.

“Many of my long-term customers now come to my own shop.

Of course that pleases me."

Discovered on an internet real estate platform: a woman from Starnberg opens a salon

At the beginning of May, Röchert discovered the salon on an Internet real estate platform.

"I walked along here a couple of weeks ago and I still thought that this is really a beautiful location.

When I saw the ad online, I immediately wrote to the broker.

Then everything happened in quick succession,” says Röchert.

Hairdresser Florian Schlicht had decided to give up his shop and close the business for good.

From 1909 his grandfather and father worked as hairdressers in Starnberg.

"It was important to both Florian Schlicht and the owner of the house that a hairdressing salon should come into the rooms again," says Röchert.

The Starnberg native has taken over most of the equipment from her predecessor.

"Two and a half weeks before the opening, we only painted the whole store once, cleaned the awning and redecorated it."

Not only the mirrors, swivel chairs and dressing tables have remained - Sonja Lindner, long-time employee at Florian Schlicht, is also part of the "Haarliebe" team.

"She was employed by my predecessor for over 30 years and of course has many regular customers." Nonetheless, Röchert is looking for more staff.

“Unfortunately, that is not so easy in our district.

The craft is no longer so popular, there is a lack of young people.” The 36-year-old would also like to train.

"It's just an incredibly great job that's a lot of fun." Children, women and men - everyone is welcome at the "Haarliebe" salon.

More information is available on the website www.haarliebe-starnberg.de.

The salon is open on Mondays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday to Friday from 8.30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8.30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
