The director of Homs Agriculture, Younis Hamdan, said in a statement to SANA that the quantities delivered to the Syrian grain silos amounted to 48,094 tons of wheat, while 4,100 tons were marketed to the branch of the Foundation for Seed Multiplication of wheat and 298 tons of barley, noting that the harvested areas of wheat amounted to about 28 thousand hectares. In turn, the Director of the Agricultural Bank in Homs, Engineer Muhammad Al-Ahmad, indicated that about 79 billion pounds were spent on farmers who delivered their crops to the Syrian grain centers, and 5 billion values of wheat delivered to the seed multiplication branch.
It is noteworthy that the estimated production of wheat for the current agricultural season is about 69 thousand tons.
