Berg – The forces of the Starnberg water rescue service and two bathers save the life of a man in Kempfenhausen.

As reported by the Starnberg water rescue service, it was probably thanks to the rapid deployment of their forces and the support of bathers that an 83-year-old swimmer could be rescued yesterday in the Kempfenhausen recreation area.

.

At around 6:30 p.m., a bather came to the rescue station and reported that the man had staggered out of the water and was now slumped in his chair.

The water rescuer immediately made her way to the bathing area to the man and had the land rescue service informed via the control center.

When she got to the man, he was no longer responsive.

Only in the hospital does the patient's heart beat independently again

Since his breathing had already stopped, she began to revive him.

She was supported by other bathers - including a doctor and a helper who also works as a first responder for the fire brigade in his free time.

The summoned land rescue service took over the patient and took him to the hospital.

There his heart began to beat on its own again.

"The 83-year-old probably owes his life to the quick and courageous action of everyone involved - especially the communicator, who recognized the situation immediately and set the rescue chain in motion," reports the water rescue service.

She would like to encourage bathers to call the emergency number 112 as quickly as possible if they observe an emergency in the recreation area and also to speak directly to the helpers at the nearest water rescue station.

Water rescuers are also available after work on site

Even if the members of the lifeguards are at the water rescue station outside of the usual working hours, they are immediately ready for action.
