Kaltenbrunner Straße in Finsterwald: full closure for three weeks

The State Building Authority is already pointing out that Kaltenbrunner Strasse will be closed while it is being renovated.

Signs are already announcing it: From August 22nd, Kaltenbrunner Straße in Finsterwald will be closed for around three weeks due to construction work.

The State Building Authority explains what is planned.

– The residents of Finsterwald will face closures and diversions for a few weeks: after the construction site at the Tölzer/Dürnbacher Straße intersection, where the municipality is expected to install a traffic light system for six weeks from August 8, 2022 and convert the bus stop to be barrier-free, there will be traffic from August 22 August 2022 also worked on the other side of the village: The State Building Authority is renovating Kaltenbrunner Straße (St 2366).

As the authorities informed our newspaper on request, the work is expected to last until September 9th - with a full closure.

Only the access to the private property is possible except for a few days of asphalting.

The carriageway of the state road will be completely renovated over 750 meters, explains Ursula Lampe, spokeswoman for the state building authority.

Road banquettes are produced, the drainage is supplemented and renewed.

The traffic island in the center of the town, at the confluence of the Kaltenbrunner and Tölzer Straße, will be widened.

And the “drop”, which divides the lanes where the state road meets the B 318, will be converted into a crossing aid that will make it easier for pedestrians to change sides of the road.

The Free State bears the costs of 365,000 euros.

The roundabout that the municipality wants at the junction with the B 318 in Kaltenbrunn is not part of this plan.

The state building authority sees no problem in overlapping

“By considering the flow of traffic, the school bus, commuter traffic and excursion traffic”, the state building authority decided to carry out the work during the summer holidays, said Lampe.

The road construction office does not see the fact that these overlap with the full closure of Tölzer Straße as a problem.

"Despite the physical proximity of the two measures, only a slight mutual interference is to be expected," says Lampe.

Finsterwald can be accessed via the southern Tölzer Straße, which branches off the B 318 to Finsterwald in the center of Gmund.

Through traffic is diverted via the Gmunder Stachus.

"Ultimately, every construction project in the Tegernsee valley undoubtedly represents a challenge due to the high volume of traffic all year round," says Lampe.

Road maintenance is essential, especially given the increase in traffic.
