As I suggested in my last column, the current return to the republican idea scores points against the "educational renovation" resulting from May 68, or even more generally against these liberal ideologies of left and right which yield to the sirens of discrimination positive and quota policies.
For the Republican, the strong and constant intervention of the State is necessary because it is ultimately the guarantor of the general interest in terms of the redistribution of wealth or the fight against social inequalities, civil society, place of private enterprise and the family, being by its very nature only that of private interests.

A liberal will postulate, as

already does , by Mandeville (1714), this little masterpiece which is at the origin of the theories of the "invisible hand", that the common good is realized by itself. even by the simple play of particular interests.
For a Republican, it's just the opposite!
