Man dies in apartment fire in Allgäu – seven people injured and homeless

A serious apartment fire broke out in Kempten on Tuesday night.
After extinguishing the fire, the rescuers discovered a body in the fire apartment.
Kempten – A serious fire broke out in Kempten on Wednesday night.
Numerous firefighters were at the scene and were ultimately able to bring the fire under control.
When they inspected the affected apartment, they discovered a lifeless body.

The emergency call came to the integrated control center at around 11:40 p.m., writes the police headquarters in Swabia South in its press release.
An apartment fire was reported on Ludwigstrasse in Kempten.
Callers reported heavy smoke coming from the top floor of the home.
Volunteer firefighters and the police immediately went to the scene.
There they found that flames were already licking out of the attic window.

When the fire was brought under control, firefighters searched the apartment and found the body of a man.
The police assume that it is the 57-year-old homeowner.
It is still unclear exactly how the man died.
An autopsy should bring clarity here.
This has already been ordered by the public prosecutor's office in Kempten.
It is also necessary to determine how the fire started.
An expert from the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office will investigate this matter together with the Kempten criminal police.

After an apartment fire in Kempten: seven people are homeless
Seven other people in the house were injured in the fire.
They were taken to a hospital with smoke inhalation.
However, they were able to leave the hospital again during the night.

Only in the morning hours were all embers extinguished and the fire brought under control.
The apartment building is now uninhabitable.
The burned-down roof truss has to be removed for safety reasons.
There was extensive water damage to the house.
According to conservative estimates by the police, property damage was in the seven-figure range.
The city of Kempten now made other accommodations available to the residents of the house.
