In the middle of the night, two initially unknown scooters threw them onto a motorway in Franconia.
It turned out: two children were responsible.
Erlangen – “Scooter thrown onto the Autobahn” – this is how the Erlangen police titled their latest press release from August 3rd.
Several road users on the A73 called the police around 1 a.m. on Wednesday night after scooters were apparently thrown onto the highway.

A witness reported two people who threw a scooter from the Autobahn bridge in Äußere-Brucker-Strasse onto the Autobahn.
Police patrols finally found two scooters on the road.
Apparently - as the damage shows - the scooters were run over by vehicles.
In the course of the search, the perpetrators were identified.
According to the police, it is two children aged eleven and twelve years.
"During the investigation, it became known that the scooters had been stolen in advance.
The children were transferred to a reception center for children and young people," the police said.

Proceedings were initiated for theft and dangerous interference with road traffic.
The owners of the scooters are not yet known.
So far, no reports have been received from road users who suffered damage after being run over by the scooter on the motorway.
The wanted persons are asked to contact the Erlangen Police Inspectorate on telephone number (0 91 31) 76 01 14.
