Media in Tehran reported the resumption of talks on a nuclear agreement • It is not clear if a breakthrough in the talks actually occurred • The reports were not confirmed by Western officials

The nuclear talks towards renewal?

An Iranian delegation will leave today (Wednesday) for the nuclear talks in Vienna, the capital of Austria, led by Iran's envoy for negotiations with the powers, Bagari Kani.

According to reports in the Iranian news agency "Isna", the spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Nasser Kanani, said that the talks will be resumed and the delegation will leave Iran "within a few hours".

"As part of the policy aimed at removing the cruel sanctions from our country, the delegation led by Bagari will leave within an hour."

Iranian Foreign Minister Amir Abdulkhian confirmed that hundreds of new centrifuges were activated "in response" to the American sanctions imposed on the regime this week.

"I would like to point out that in response to this American action, Iran began injecting gas into hundreds of new-generation centrifuges according to a decision that was made before," Abdulkhian clarified at a human rights ceremony held in Tehran.

The Iranian official defined the course of the new sanctions as "the madness of the ineffective sanctions of Joe Biden, Blinken and Rob Malley", referring to the director of the nuclear talks on behalf of the White House.

As a reminder, American Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced last night that his country has added six more Iranian companies to the administration's blacklist, due to their activities in the alleged illegal trade of "oil and petrochemical products".
