Spanish player Kirian Rodríguez, who plays for UD Las Palmas in the Second Division of Spanish football, told a press conference on Tuesday that he has Hodgkin's lymphoma, a type of cancer.
The footballer will have to leave the pitch for an indefinite period of time, but he will continue to be close to his teammates: "I'm going to continue giving instructions from the stands, heavy, pointing everywhere and yelling at everyone", declared the midfielder humorously.
Rodríguez affirms that his fight begins now and that his wish was that they see him strong.
He promised to return to the courts in December.
