Bodybuilder Valdir Segato, known as the
Brazilian Hulk
because of the size of his muscles, has died at the age of 55 near the city of Sao Paulo, the Globo newspaper reported on Monday.
Segato was a social media star with more than a million followers on TikTok, who claimed to be inspired by the physique of actor and politician Arnold Schwarzenegger and fictional characters like the Hulk himself, and appreciated being called "the monster" for the street, according to the New York Post.
Synthol is a liquid made of oil, lidocaine (an anesthetic) and benzyl alcohol that is used to develop biceps, pectorals and muscles of superhuman dimensions, according to British public broadcasting.
Segato's arms were 23 inches wide, according to the newspaper Globo.

Doctors warned him of the risk of strokes or deadly infections, and six years ago he was told he could end up with amputated arms or legs, or nerve damage and muscle disfigurement, the Daily Mail reported in 2016.
"They call me Hulk, Schwarzenegger and He-Man all the time and I like that. I have doubled my biceps, but I still want to be bigger," Segato said, according to the aforementioned British newspaper.
A week ago he felt unwell and asked his neighbor for help, according to the newspaper Globo.
"They put him in a car. When he got to the hospital, he fell on the reception desk, having a heart attack. I think he had a heart attack," said Moisés da Conceição da Silva, the son of the neighbor whom he asked aid.
Doctors have not confirmed the cause of death, but the Brazilian press points to poisoning due to Synthol.
