The Ministry of Local Administration and Environment issued Resolution No. 1452, according to which it determined the number of provincial council members at a ratio of one member for every ten thousand people, with no less than 50 members and no more than 100 members.
According to the decision, which SANA received a copy of, the number of provincial council members in Damascus, Damascus countryside, Aleppo, Homs, Hama, Lattakia, Tartous, Idlib, Deir Ezzor, Hasaka, Raqqa and Daraa was set at 100, while the number of members in As-Suwayda was set at 75 and in Quneitra at 10.
The Ministry issued Resolution No. 1452 today for the year 2022, which included determining the number of members of the councils of the administrative units (the governorate, the city, the town and the municipality).
According to the decision, the number of members of city councils in the governorates was determined at a ratio of one member for every four thousand people, with no less than 25 members and no more than 50 members, while the number of members of country councils in the governorates was set at a ratio of one member per two thousand people, with no less than ten members and no more. It has 25 members, and the municipal councils have ten members.
