Dozens of Palestinians in the West Bank cities of Tubas and Qalqilya participated in two protests against the arrest of the Israeli occupation authorities, the governor of Jerusalem, Adnan Ghaith.
Wafa news agency reported that the participants in the two vigils organized by the Palestinian national forces raised the Palestinian flag and banners condemning the arrest of Ghaith and calling for his release and chanting slogans stressing the continuation of the struggle in the face of the occupation.
The governor of Qalqilya, Rafea Rajbeh, explained that the occupation deliberately arrests Ghaith repeatedly with the aim of dissuading Jerusalemites from the struggle and steadfastness in their land, stressing that the crimes of the occupation will not break their resolve and they will continue the resistance to protect Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites, foremost of which is Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Governor of Tubas and the Northern Jordan Valley, Younis Al-Assi, indicated that the occupation will not affect the will of Ghaith or the will of the Palestinian people, who will continue to stand in the face of the arrogance of the occupation until the restoration of full rights and the liberation of the land.
In turn, the Secretary of the Fatah movement in Tubas, Mahmoud Sawafta, said that the Palestinians are one row in the face of the occupation and will not allow it to Judaize Jerusalem.
The mayor of Tubas Hossam Daraghmeh pointed out that the arrest of Ghaith is a continuation of the series of crimes of the occupation in Jerusalem, but all the practices of the occupation that target the Palestinians and their national symbols will not discourage their will and determination to resist until the occupation is defeated.
The occupation forces arrested the Governor of Jerusalem, Adnan Ghaith, from his home in Silwan, the day before yesterday.
