The Maria Einsiedel natural pool will remain closed until further notice.
The values have not yet stabilized after the germ infestation.
Local politicians are now demanding more information.
Summer, sun, bathing weather - and at the popular Maria Einsiedel outdoor pool, the people of Munich are still standing in front of locked gates.
Due to increased germ contamination in the water, the facility will remain closed.
So far it is completely open when you can splash around in the natural pool again.
A circumstance with which the district committee Thalkirchen/Obersendling/Forstenried/Fürstenried/Solln (BA 19) is very dissatisfied.
In the most recent meeting on Tuesday evening, the Greens parliamentary group requested clarification from the municipal utilities in an application.
"We want to be informed by the SWM about the exact causes of the germ load in the biological tank," explained Anne-Margret Struck.
Information would have to be provided on how the germ load had been reduced in the past few weeks and whether the measures were now taking effect.
The local politicians had "doubts that the sole reason for the closure was germ contamination," the application said.
Rising energy costs or personnel problems may also be the cause of the ongoing closure.
Assumptions that SWM spokesman Michael Silva described as "simply wrong".
"An excessive germ load in the pool water is the trigger for the closure," he emphasizes.
The impurities in the water, which is generally not chlorinated, were found in mid-July.
"In order to reduce the germ load, the employees have carried out intensive, mainly manual cleaning work on the pools and the bathing infrastructure in the background over the past few weeks.
The use of chemicals is forbidden, as it would damage the cleaning biome.” The system is now resting “so that it can do its natural cleaning work.” According to Silva, samples are taken every morning.
"As soon as the values stabilize, we will open the pool again."
Another bitter pill for bath visitors.
Because it had to close at the end of June after a flood, due to a lack of staff, the facility only opened later this year than other pools.
For the Greens faction in the district committee, all of this is difficult to accept.
She emphasized that Maria Einsiedel is an important meeting place in the district and that the company is extremely important, especially in times when fewer and fewer children are learning to swim.
Finally, the local committee demanded that those responsible for the municipal utilities answer questions at the next BA meeting.
