"They call me 'garbage, you speaker' on the street and wish me death. There has never been such a poison machine against journalists here"

About the Bibiists who attack, the threat he received against his children and the security guards attached to him.

News 13 court reporter Aviad Glickman explains in an interview with the Israel Press Institute podcast why he doesn't believe Moshe Saada and why Netanyahu will be convicted of bribery - and that still doesn't make him the "spokesman for the prosecution".

About two months ago, News 13 court reporter Aviad Glickman received a message on Facebook that read: "We know you hang out in the parks in Modiin with the kids. Keep hanging out, but be careful, why do you have so many haters lately."

The disturbing message, one of many that Glickman has received since the Netanyahu trial began, but certainly one of the scariest of them, led to an article written by journalist Gidi Weitz - whose investigation in Israel actually gave rise to the investigation that led to File 4,000 - against the ongoing incitement against the journalists covering the Netanyahu trial.

Weitz pointed an accusing finger mainly at Eli Tzipori, who usually harasses and takes close-ups of the journalists outside the courtroom, but really not only at him.

In a conversation on the Tiktok podcast of the Israel Press Institute, Glickman warns against Netanyahu's "poison machine" which he says could cause harm in journalists, explains why the nickname stuck to him "prosecution spokesman"

A small part of the conversation is presented here in writing.

"It's good for him in political life."

"Let's close this once and for all. The nickname that has been stuck on me by the Bibiist gang since the Netanyahu cases started, is that I talk to the prosecutor's office and feed off the leaks from there. So let's be clear, I'm in favor of the leaks. By the way. I feed off the leaks."

In an interview with Amit Segal, the former deputy head of the police, Moshe Saada

describes a situation in which investigations are whitewashed just so as not to harm Netanyahu's files. This is a very serious allegation that describes actual criminal conduct. What do you think of the allegations?

among many things.

Let's start with the issue of Ronnie Reitman, I think the prosecution was wrong in this matter.

Reitman should have stood trial in my opinion.

Weinstein's predecessor's decision to close the case was legitimate, but they were wrong.

The conduct of the police in the Abu Alkeyan case was a scandal.

But what does Sada do?

He linked everything to Netanyahu's investigations.

Why?

mere.

Because it's good for him in political life, because it's good for him to get a platform in all kinds of places."

I'm trying to understand, in your opinion, the interrogation exercise they did to Hefetz doesn't require an examination?

"Certainly required. And he was also checked. But Saada was a little bit wrong about the facts. He talked about the fact that she was the head of the National Security Agency at the time and he was filling in for the position, he talked about the exercise and I heard a different version.

Make a mistake.

Neither proper nor beautiful."

Somehow you didn't surprise me with the answer.

"On the contrary.

Saada's claims are not new.

He already wrote them a year and a half ago in an affidavit to the High Court. If a senior prosecutor comes tomorrow and says disturbing things, I will not automatically say that everything is true. I will say that it is necessary to check, and I will check. But here the things have already been checked. All of this is an attempt to harm Netanyahu's trial."

So why do you think you are called the spokesman for the attorney's office?

"Let's close this once and for all. The nickname that has been stuck on me by the Bibiist gang since the Netanyahu cases started, is that I talk to the prosecutor's office and feed off the leaks from there. So let's be clear, I'm in favor of the leaks. By the way. I feed off the leaks."

You are discounting yourself.

The main argument is that you do not criticize the system, even when it is wrong.

I don't remember a significant publication of yours about this huge body, which is quite wrong.

"Of course he has mistakes."

So what is your main criticism of the prosecutor's office?

"I have a lot. The investigation time it takes for them to decide whether to file an indictment or not. There were attempts in the past to limit it in time, but nothing came of it. It cannot be that an investigation is opened and it does not end after two or three years. Contrary to the detractors' claims that it was done to Grabbing people by the throat, I think it's simply ineffective and that someone there needs to catch himself and decide clearly - if within two or three years there are no recommendations from an investigation - then the case should be closed. Another issue that requires immediate correction is the extension of detention. Many times public figures are arrested and given Prolonging detention is almost blind. It is possible to prevent ways to disrupt an investigation not by extending detention and there are much more proportionate solutions."

"Fearing for the fate of Israeli democracy"

"I am anxious about the possibility that there will be a hearing in the Knesset and that judges will be chosen based on political considerations. This is simply forbidden. This is politicization of the Holy of Holies, of the judicial system, in my view this is one of the most terrible things that can happen."

Do you share the concern on the left that if Netanyahu returns to power, he will replace the legal advisor to the government, pass an extended superseding clause and change the law appointing judges so that they will be summoned to hearings before politicians?

"Obviously. That's not what I'm saying, listen to what the candidates in the Likud primaries are saying. After all, what's happening now in the Likud is that the more you attack the judicial system, the more the contestants pave the way to the top. I have a real fear for the fate of Israeli democracy."

Why wouldn't there actually be a hearing for the judges here like in most democracies, like in the USA?

"When we become a democracy like the US, we will start talking about what needs to be done, and even there it is wrong.

I am anxious about the possibility that there will be a hearing in the Knesset and that judges will be chosen according to political considerations.

It's just not allowed.

This is a politicization of the Holy of Holies, of the judicial system, in my view this is one of the most terrible things that can happen.

Yes, the committee for selecting judges also has flaws, as we saw in the Efi Neve case, and there are alliances, but I don't know of any other better method."

How do you think the trial will end?

"I think the cases have strong evidence, I think the 1,000 and 4,000 cases are very strong, And precisely the 2,000 case is more problematic from the point of view of the prosecutor's office."

Isn't the 4,000 case the problematic one?

"It is true that the state witness Shlomo Filber is problematic for the prosecutor's office, but the evidence of bribery is still very strong."

"Not the head of a criminal organization, Ada."

"Crazy rise in poison and hatred"

"I see the demonstrations in front of Liat Ben Ari's house. She is a lawyer! Demonstrating in front of a prosecutor who is fulfilling her role is already a problem, but they made up things about her son, about her deceased sister, and not only about her, and it is only getting worse."

At the height of Hadas Klein's testimony, the chants against journalists outside the courtroom reached a peak.

Are you personally afraid of physical violence?

"They can write whatever they want about me, I'm really immune, but I've already come across cases where I'm walking with the children on the street, and I've come across unpleasant curses and the children hear the things. These are small children who hear curses that they're not supposed to absorb. I'm a journalist, not an elected official. Journalists aren't supposed to absorb Stuff like that".

What are you yelling at?

"'Trash', 'you talk', curses, unpleasant statements, I even had a demonstration under my house. Criticism is certainly necessary and mandatory to criticize me, and on social networks if necessary I also respond. And that's perfectly fine. But there is a difference between criticism and death wishes And

swearing.

"And of course there was the message I received in which they said they knew where I was hanging out in the park in Modi'in with the children, which was already really excessive.

"It is clear that there is a propaganda and incitement machine here that works against witnesses, against lawyers and against journalists. If I am a witness in the Netanyahu trial, I don't know if I won't think twice about testifying. Look what they did to Hadas Klein, what they did to Dana Neufeld (a former senior official at the D.V. Communications Ministry .) I covered the Katsav trial, the Hirschzon trial, the Olmert trial and we have never encountered anything like this."

What is your explanation for this, how can this machine have 30 mandates?

"Not all 30 mandates support the incitement machine, but there are people, including journalists, who support this incitement on social media. Who increase it. You see the connection. It has to be said, we are in a bad place. The same propaganda machine that produces fake news has Purpose - to prepare the ground for not accepting the verdict. This is a poison machine. I see the demonstrations in front of Liat Ben Ari's house. She is a lawyer! Demonstrating in front of a prosecutor who is fulfilling her role is already a problem, but they invented things about her son, about her deceased sister , and not just about her, and it's only getting worse. There is a crazy increase in venom and hatred.

"Someday it will come.

Let's say the writing was on the wall.

They will try to harm a lawyer or a journalist and it will happen.

When we hear Knesset members calling Saladin a criminal organization and we will come with bleach and wash them, and say they will fire the prosecutors because they dared to file an indictment.

And then we'll say how we didn't stop it.

"Say, does it make sense to you that the prosecutor in the Netanyahu case has been walking with security guards for months? That the former ombudsman needed security guards?

Does a witness in a case need security guards?

Not the head of a criminal organization, Ada.

And it's clear that the fire will be directed against the judges in the future as well."

Did you have security guards?

"I had security guards for a few days, yes."

Did you feel that you were being backed up by the news company?

"Definitely.

Completely.

If there are unusual events, I inform both the editor and the CEO, and throughout all the managements, including the previous ones, they backed up and backed up full backup."

"Unprecedented poison machine".

Aharon Barak is also wrong

"When you come with suspicions of sexual bribery in the holy of holies of the judicial system, I understand why Nitzan did what he did. I don't know if I agree, but I certainly understand where it comes from"

What did you think of Aharon Barak's mobilization in favor of Netanyahu as part of the plea deal?

As you rally to defend the justice system, he gives it a standard grade.

"In my eyes, he was wrong, but this is not a great tragedy."

And what do you think of his photograph with Moshe Katsav's book.

"In my eyes, this is a big mistake. This is about a rapist who was convicted in court and there is a very incorrect statement here. I could not understand what his considerations were. But even if he was wrong in one or another consideration, it happens."

A bitter report published this week stated that there are no indications of planting surveillance software without a legal order, but "only" deviations from the permits given, and extracting information that apparently was not passed on to the investigators.

What do you think of Calcalist's journalistic handling of the case?

"Look, first of all they found anomalies, and this should be attributed to Calcalist, but they took it ten steps further and described in their series of articles a police state, and it turns out that there is no such situation. No one just goes after citizens without a warrant, no one catches three CEOs of offices in Pegasus.

There is no doubt that Calcalist should do a lot of soul searching.

And by the way, when there was talk of breaking into Filber's phone, I posted it and stated the situation factually.

When stories come against the prosecutor's office, they are published just like others."

This week it was announced that former judge Etti Kharif is suing GLC reporter Hadas Steif for four million shekels for defamation of her name.

What do you think about her cell phone hacking?

"I wouldn't drive like that, let everyone take it wherever they want."

And what do you think about the privilege that Shai Nitzan gave her.

"When you come with suspicions of sexual bribery in the holy of holies of the judicial system, I understand why Nitzan did what he did. I don't know if I agree, but I certainly understand where it comes from."
