Fifteen Syrian and Arab plastic artists volunteered their feathers and artistic tools for four days to produce a creative artistic production today at the conclusion of the Selina Cultural Forum, which is being held for the fifth year in Oyoun Al Wadi in the Homs countryside.

The forum, which has become an annual cultural tradition, has its own imprint, and its pioneers are artists and creators. This year it bore the name (Badminton Player) and its output was more than 40 plastic paintings of different themes and methods.

About the forum, its director, artist Bassim Awad, told SANA: “Selina is an artistic and cultural activity that is held in the village of Oyoun Al-Wadi. Fine artists, sculptors, poets and intellectuals are invited to it, and the people of the region and tourists participate in it. It is an opportunity for artists to meet and learn about various experiences. This year was distinguished with the participation of artists from Lebanon and Iraq.”

Awad explained that the forum left its distinctive mark and received great attention, and he is always keen to invite veteran artists, talented youth and recent graduates to form a state of communication between generations.

In his first participation in the forum, the artist Abdullah Abu Asli focused on the themes of nature through two realistic paintings inspired by the beauty and splendor of the place, indicating that Selena is an important cultural project that will have positive results in the future.

Inspired by the mythology of the legend, the plastic artist Osama Amasha was inspired by his paintings, which carried an emotional and expressive character. .

Amasha, who came from the city of As-Suwayda to participate in the forum, indicated that the colors he used were inspired by the icon of the Virgin Mary, as it is a mixture of gold leaf and green and red colors, indicating that he is participating for the third time in the forum, which he considers a space for creativity and beauty in a quiet village.

From Iraq, the artist, Star Darwish, participated in three paintings with different techniques, in which he was creative in embodying hope and joy in a random way through the personality of the child in his various life situations.

Darwish indicated that he embodied the child because he is the most honest person and able to express his feelings away from restrictions and rationality, stressing the importance of the forum and the various artistic methods it contains, which is a reflection of the environment that embraces him from his point of view.

And from As-Suwayda, the artist, Sarab Al-Safadi, participated in three paintings in which she used different materials, charcoal, acrylic, and collage. Extensive and detailed.

Al-Safadi indicated that the Selena Forum offers the participating artists a new experience, pointing to the supportive, inspiring and positivity atmosphere that prevailed during the forum period.
