The residents of Kerem Shalom set out today (Thursday) for a respite from the tensions that have prevailed in the Gaza Strip in recent days, with the roadblocks and the curfew imposed on the area.

Several residents who spoke with Walla told about the relief of leaving for Jerusalem, the disappointment - and the plans for the future.

"This truce was a choice for the residents, those who want to leave leave and there are those who will also stay," said kibbutz resident Guy Teitelbaum.

"It's not about running away from the kibbutz, absolutely not, we leave and come back. We have a choice whether to leave or stay. No one dictates terms to us. The kibbutz will continue to flourish and be built. We are here and we have no other home."

Roni Kissin, member of the kibbutz, agreed with his words.

"We really don't run away from the kibbutz, we go out to refresh ourselves. It's completely legitimate. No one turns us away. We will stay in the kibbutz forever."

Their friend Avital Schindler added that "It's nice to go out and refresh, it's an initiative of the council. We feel that we would like them to beat our enemy and not to go on a truce. To return to routine and quiet, and that they would have to be afraid to move around and not us. The children need a bit of a different atmosphere. This is really not an escape, really not We bought houses here - we are not running away. I have been in the kibbutz for three years and next week we hope to inaugurate our new house in the kibbutz."

However, while the residents of the Gaza Strip today entered the third day of the curfew, life in the Gaza Strip is going smoothly.

Due to fear of retaliation for the arrest of a senior Islamic Jihad official on Monday night, the residents of the settlements in the south were forbidden to leave their homes - and the IDF blocked the main roads in the area. Thus, the farmers were forbidden to cultivate their fields and the children were forced to spend the vacation days at home, away from friends At

the same time, in the Gaza Strip, despite the air hunt for the anti-tank units that threaten the Israeli side of the border, life goes on as usual.

In the pictures that are published in the news agencies, you can see bathers on the beaches, bustling nightlife and children playing under the sky.

This morning, the IDF raised the alert level in the Gaza Strip in another step. In the last few hours, the waters of the Gaza Strip have been filled with armed unmanned aerial vehicles to locate anti-tank units of the Islamic Jihad - and hit them.

This, due to a concrete warning that the Islamic Jihad had sent anti-tank squads to the first line of houses in order to harm IDF soldiers, civilians or vehicles.

The concern, which has lasted for several days, stems from the arrest of the senior Islamic Jihad leader Sheikh Bassem al-Saadi on Monday.

During the day, the commander of the Gaza Division and the commander of the Southern Command will present an assessment of the situation on the ground, and in the afternoon the Chief of Staff will visit the Minister of Defense with the head of the Intelligence Division and present to him the intelligence situation and recommendations for action. The estimates are that if Hamas and Islamic Jihad do not announce a calm, Gantz will announce Additional economic sanctions.
