Impunity in violence against the press in Mexico is practically absolute, says Leopoldo Maldonado, regional director of Article 19 for Mexico and Central America.
The director of the non-governmental organization referred to the murder of Ernesto Méndez, director of the digital media outlet Tu Voz, who died after being attacked by armed individuals in the municipality of San Luis de la Paz, Guanajuato, in the center of the country.
So far this year, there have been 13 homicides against communicators, according to a count by non-governmental organizations.
