Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying announced the cancellation of the planned meeting between the foreign ministers of China and Japan in Cambodia due to the G7 statement on the situation on Taiwan.
"The meeting between the foreign ministers of China and Japan in Phnom Penh was canceled because Japan, along with the G7 countries and the European Union, issued a joint statement making baseless accusations against China and portraying black things as white," Chunying said at a press conference today.
The Chinese spokeswoman warned that Beijing may reconsider its dialogue with the G7 countries if it does not change its position on the situation on Taiwan.
The foreign ministers of the Group of Seven countries had expressed their concern about the military exercises that China is conducting in the vicinity of Taiwan in response to the visit of US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to it.
