Damascus-SANA
The Cinema House project screened this evening the South Korean feature film (Crime Notes) at Al-Kindi Cinema in Damascus.
The 2003 crime film, which won the Best Screenplay Award at the Turin Film Festival, was written and directed by South Korean director Bong Joon-ho, who won an Oscar for his film Parasite.
Regarding the selection of the film, director Firas Muhammad, one of the supervisors of the Cinema House, said in a statement to SANA: We chose this film with the aim of diversifying the types of films that we present to the Syrian audience. It is necessary to see.
Muhammad pointed out that several criteria govern the selection of films within the project, including the difference from the usual commercial films, to allow the Syrian audience the opportunity to watch them, with the criteria of modernity, and their winning of various international awards.
It is noteworthy that the General Film Organization launched the Cinema House project two years ago, to return to its activity this year after stopping due to the Corona pandemic.
