A crossing aid on Wernher-von-Braun-Straße is intended to ensure more safety in Putzbrunn - the crossing is an important way to school.
Putzbrunn – The corner of Grasbrunner- and Wernher-von-Braun-Straße is quite busy, especially in the morning.
In addition, this is a highly frequented way to school.
At the request of the CSU, the traffic island there is now to be replaced by a "crossing aid".
According to Robert Schmelzer (CSU), the planted traffic island in the middle of Wernher-von-Braun-Straße is not enough to cross the street in one go.
“Pedestrians then have to wait between the lanes and are sometimes directly on the street.
We therefore want," said Schmelzer, "that the administration examines whether the traffic island can be converted into a useful crossing aid."

If there are construction measures, then the new transition should of course also be barrier-free, emphasized Mayor Edwin Klostermeier (SPD).
"We have discussed this crossing several times, because after all it is an important way to school and the children have to cross the street somewhere safely," said Klostermeier.
Branch manager Michael Hohberg promised that the administration would examine the application, "but to be honest, I don't think that conversion measures are actually necessary there, because certain requirements regarding traffic and pedestrian frequency must also be met."
Putzbrunn: Traffic of the future will be a challenge
Sybille Martinschledde (Greens) asked that a zebra crossing be considered during the test, "I think that makes the most sense, because after all there are a lot of schoolchildren living in the Wernher-von-Braun- and Michael-Haslbeck-Straße area."
Martin Adler (FWG) pointed out that the municipality was extending Hermann-Oberth-Strasse in the direction of Grasbrunner Strasse, "when that is finished, the traffic in the area will definitely change." Klostermeier promised that these aspects would also be examined will.
The Transport Committee voted unanimously in favor of the test.
