Tegernseer Loxxess AG can look forward to two awards: The company is one of the "Bavaria Best 50", board member Christina Thurner is "Entrepreneur of the Year".

– Tegernsee-based Loxxess AG was awarded the European Logistics Prize in 2020 for its entrepreneurial courage, pioneering spirit and innovation.

The logistics service provider has now received another award - and in a double pack: The company, which was founded 27 years ago by Peter Amberger and specializes in complex logistics and value-added services, is one of the companies in the "Bavaria Best 50" in 2022, which are chosen every year by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs will.

At the same time, Christina Thurner, who is on the board of Loxxess with her brother Claus-Peter Amberger, was awarded the "Bavarian Entrepreneur of the Year" prize.

According to a press release, medium-sized Bavarian companies that have been able to increase their sales and the number of employees above average within the last five years receive the award.

This is the case at Loxxess AG: In the period from 2017 to 2021, sales increased from around 135 million euros to 230 million euros.

The number of employees increased by around 500 to 2350.

Economics Minister presents price

Economics Minister Hubert Aiwanger presented the award at a ceremony in Schleißheim Castle near Munich.

He emphasized that it is particularly important, especially in times of the corona pandemic and global political crises, to honor the contribution of medium-sized companies to the economy.

With the additional award for Christina Thurner, the Ministry is committed to greater visibility and representation of women in management positions.

The title was only awarded for the third time.

It is a great honor and pleasure to be among the 50 best medium-sized companies in Bavaria, says Christina Thurner.

"As a third-generation family business, social and ecological commitment in our region is particularly important to us, and we see that as confirmation today." She hopes that her commitment will inspire women to advance their careers and their companies.

Christina Thurner studied economics at the University of Zurich with a focus on logistics.

At Loxxess, she is responsible for the areas of IT, operations, corporate development, marketing and communication, the pharmaceutical industry and the regions of northern and eastern Germany as a shareholder and board member.

She is also involved as a shareholder in the express service provider Trans-o-flex, where she actively helps to shape the orientation of the express service provider on the shareholders' committee.

At the same time, the mother of two is a member of the advisory board for the “Die Wirtschaftsmacher” initiative.

More than 100 companies from trade, industry and services, media and science come together here to provide information about the functions, diversity and perspectives of logistics.

In 2020, Christina Thurner was elected to the board of the German Logistics Association (BVL) - as one of the first female representatives of medium-sized companies.

With her passion for innovation, she stands for modern logistics and a changed image of women in the industry.
