Geretsried – The mayor of Geretsried, Michael Müller, needed three hits to tap the first keg in the marquee on Jahnstrasse on Friday evening, July 29th.
The fact that the city had to cancel the stand concert on Karl-Lederer-Platz and the parade due to a rain shower did not dampen the exuberant mood.
The ride operators welcomed the first visitors in the late afternoon.
However, the marquee and the partly covered beer garden only filled up when the Gartenberger bunker brass band played and Mayor Michael Müller swung the wooden mallet to tap the barrel on the stage.
Together with district administrator Josef Niedermaier, the landlord couple Claudia and Christian Fahrenschon as well as the two mayors of Tölz, Ingo Mehner and Michael Lindmair, the Wolfratshausen town hall boss Klaus Heilinglechner and the Geretsrieder vice-mayor Sonja Frank, he toasted the beer-loving crowd.
The forest summer continued on Wednesday with a family day at reduced prices.
Other highlights promise the Day of Companies and Clubs (August 5th), the Hartlhauser Musi (August 6th) and the Oktoberfest-tested Goasslschnalzer and Plattler from the Samerberg (August 7th).
The festival tent begins at 2 p.m. on weekdays and at 11 a.m. on weekends.
