Moosburg is celebrating 1250 years - the autumn show should be something special.

The city is planning, among other things, a particularly large parade.

Moosburg

– For the 1250th anniversary of the city of Moosburg, the comeback of the classic autumn show should also be something special.

Above all, the parade on the occasion of the Moosburg Festival (September 9th to 18th) should be a highlight of the year.

Mayor Josef Dollinger and his employees Martin Holzner and Max Götz have now shown that the advertising drum has already been banged on.

logistical challenge

The focus of the program is the pageant on Sunday, September 11th.

This has always been an integral part of the autumn show and has always consisted of around 40 groups.

After the huge success with the 1250 meter long banquet at the end of June, the head of the building yard, Martin Holzner, now put the target at 125 groups.

A move that is three or four times as long is also a logistical challenge.

Holzner and his building yard team are working alone on 20 municipal contributions to the record-breaking parade and organizing floats with vintage tractors, horse-drawn carriages and music bands.

All Moosburg clubs were also written to in the hope that they would participate - ideally with historical contributions.

"Associations and companies get an opportunity to present themselves to a broad public," emphasized Dollinger.

He also made it clear that the surrounding communities were also invited to the move because Moosburg was important as a central center for neighbors such as Wang, Langenpreising and Buch.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

The city is currently working on a route and is also looking for the starting point for the move, which also requires a lot of space for more than 100 groups.

"We have a sporting program until September 11th," explained Holzner.

"But we'll handle it." After the retirement of managing director Josef Mühlberger, the organization of the autumn show this year was spread over several shoulders.

Martin Holzner and Max Götz stood for the team working on the festival during the program presentation.

Holzner said that they work with long-term partners such as the Krämmer family and the Erdinger Weißbräu brewery.

Finding a showman wasn't that easy

The city also wants to set up an attractive, varied amusement park.

According to Holzner, the search for showmen was not that easy because many festivals overlap in autumn, including the Moosburg Autumn Show and the Freisinger Volksfest.

Showmen then always tended towards larger cities.
