The meeting held in Al-Hasakah Governorate today with the WHO office in the Eastern Province focused on the possibility of increasing support for the health sector in the governorate.

The Governor of Hasaka, Dr. Louay Sayoh, confirmed during the meeting that government institutions are always cooperating with international and relief organizations that work legally on Syrian territory, considering that the World Health Organization is one of the positively active organizations and had a role in supporting the health sector during the last period.

Dr. Sayoh expressed the governorate's readiness to provide all facilities for the success of the work of the organization's office for the benefit of citizens, pointing to the continuation of full cooperation and coordination, especially with regard to Covid 19 vaccines, and focus on supporting the health sector within the city of Hasaka to cover the needs of the displaced and the local community.

The delegation of the World Health Organization affirmed the organization's readiness to provide the necessary needs according to the available capabilities, especially that the organization is working to serve citizens and to monitor the general state of health conditions, pointing out that the organization's office in the eastern region will transfer all demands and needs to the organization's office in Damascus to study the possibility of achieving them.

The Director of Al-Hasakah Health, Dr. Issa Khalaf, called for support to transform the modernized emergency center in the center of Al-Hasakah “the Pearl” into an emergency hospital, and to provide it with an oxygen generating station, incubators for the pediatric department, and a set of medicines for diseases

Infections and chronic diseases, which will reflect positively on the reality of health services in the city after the withdrawal of the Hasaka National Hospital from service, which is controlled by the (Qasd) militia backed by the American occupation.
