2022-08-04T17:00:30.376Z

Four faces of the series recently announced their departure from the British series signed Laurie Dunn for Netflix.

The writers of

Sex Education

will have to redouble their creativity.

Moordale High School, at the heart of the plot of the British series, will lose a few students.

For three seasons, fans have been closely following the adventures of Otis Milburn (Asa Butterfield), a shy high school student, devoid of any sexual experience and son of a sex therapist played by Gillian Anderson.

With Maeve Wiley (Emma Mackey), a rebellious teenager, they decide to secretly create a sex therapy cell.

Their comrades flock and release their words on homosexuality, contraception, masturbation or even abortion.

But in the new episodes of

Sex Education

, the therapy unit risks being less busy: four of their interlocutors leave the series.

Since July 5, female cast members have announced their departure.

The first to initiate the movement was Tanya Reynolds.

I will miss Lily, and I will miss the band.

But it seems to be the right thing to do”

, explained the actress on her Instagram account, considering that her departure will encourage the screenwriters to

“create new characters”

.

His playing partner Patricia Allison, the interpreter of Ola, said goodbye shortly after.

Ex-flirt of the main character, the high school student became his roommate and pseudo-half-sister after their parents had become a couple.

She was coming out and falling in love with Lily.

Their relationship became central during the previous two seasons and highlighted subjects such as vaginismus, the existence of extraterrestrials or even the lack of communication.

We will undoubtedly regret his departure, his role not lacking in potential for future intrigues.

Simone Ashley, discovered in the role of Olivia during the first season, also leaves

Between seasons, Simone Ashley landed the role of Kate Sharma from

With the dazzling success of English fiction, the interpreter preferred to leave the series.

The latest departure is that of Rakhee Thakkar, who plays Emily Sands, an on-screen English teacher.

She broke the news a few days ago on

Radio Times

.

"I'm not part of the new episodes anymore

," she says before explaining

"not really knowing why

. "

In this vagueness, the actress, whose adult role still had important scenes in

Sex Education,

says she is

“very proud and grateful to have been part of such an important series”

.

Despite this carnage, the production of

Sex Education

can still count on the presence of the main characters from previous seasons.

Asa Butterfield and Emma Mackey will reprise their roles as Otis and Maeve.

A relief for the scriptwriters who, at the end of the third part, let the two protagonists discover the joys and sorrows of a long-distance relationship.
