In implementation of the provisions of Decree No. 216 for the year 2022, which set the date for the local council elections on August 18, the process of submitting applications for candidacy for the presidency of local councils (governorates, cities, countries, municipalities) begins from tomorrow, Friday, August 5, and continues until the end of the official working hours on Thursday. corresponding to September 11, 2022.
In a statement to SANA's reporter, the Director of Councils and Local Development in the Ministry of Local Administration and Environment, Eng. Iyad Al-Shama'a, confirmed that the sub-judicial committees formed in the governorates are ready to receive the applications of candidates after all the necessary supplies and equipment have been secured for the success of this entitlement.
Al-Shamaa indicated that the person wishing to run must submit a written request to the judicial subcommittees formed for this purpose according to each region and in accordance with the number of judicial committees.
Al-Shamaa explained that all cadres were placed at the disposal of the judicial committees to ensure the smooth running of the first stage represented by submitting candidacy applications, calling on those with competencies and experience in leading and upgrading their councils and investing their resources to the necessity of running for this national eligibility.
According to the candle, the general secretariats in the governorates are fully prepared and there is a full alert from all the concerned authorities that grant documents for candidacy, such as the issuance of a civil registration or an unconvicted document or others, and they have been circulated to continue working, including Friday, the first day to receive the applications of candidates in order to facilitate the citizens to accept their nominations.
It is noteworthy that there are 1,470 administrative units distributed over 14 governorates, 158 cities, 572 towns and 726 municipalities. 19,086 members will be elected in the various governorates.
