During the meeting, which was held at the embassy in Jakarta, in the presence of the Chairman of the Bilateral Trade Relations Committee with Syria and Iraq in the Chamber of Commerce of Indonesia, Ridwan Hamid, previous meetings between the two parties and ways to enhance trade and economic relations between Syria and Indonesia in the fields of energy, investment, medical and pharmaceutical ingredients, and food products such as rice, cooking oil and coffee were reviewed. .

The two parties agreed to hold a virtual meeting soon via the Internet, bringing together businessmen from both sides, in which focus will be placed on the priorities set by the Syrian side in terms of import and export.

The importance of Investment Law No. 18 and the need to see it by the Indonesian side, especially as it opens the way for broad incentives for Indonesian companies to invest in the rehabilitation of infrastructure in Syria, where the opportunity for cooperation in many areas was emphasized, provided that these areas are discussed in more detail During the participation of the Syrian side in the Indonesia Expo 2022 in the month of November.

The Syrian Chargé d'Affairs indicated that the Western media is still working to distort the image of reality in Syria and claim that it is not safe, in contrast to the state of stability and security that it is currently enjoying, and that many friendly and major countries such as China are studying the expansion of their investments and projects in Syria.

Annan said that a country such as Indonesia, as a member of the Group of Twenty with its large economy, should take advantage of the available opportunities and increase the volume of trade exchange between the two countries in a way that rises to the level of the available capabilities and opportunities and the actual needs of both sides.

The meeting was attended by the official of the economic file attached to the Syrian side, Muhammad Nahed Muhairi, and from the Indonesian side, members of the Bilateral Trade Relations Committee with Syria and Iraq.
