One day before the registration deadline, the Greens chose Alexandra Karl as their candidate for the mayoral election in Fahrenzhausen.

Fahrenzhausen –

For the “Festival of Democracy”, as the Greens district chairman Maximilian Breu called the assembly, eight citizens from Fahrenzhausen who are entitled to vote and are members of the Greens, as well as two dozen interested people came to the inn on the B 13 to experience how the trio of applicants for Heinrich Stadlbauer's successor will be completed.

With Alexandra Karl, born in 1972, the Greens have entered the only candidate who lives in the community.

And she is certainly no stranger there.

Karl said that her father gave her the impetus to apply as a candidate: Gottfried Liedl, himself a municipal councilor in Fahrenzhausen for 30 years, where he was also the second mayor, and bearer of the community's gold medal for citizens.

"His work has shaped me," Karl said in her introductory speech.

For her, community is not only the place where she lives, but also the place where she wants to make a difference.

The lawyer lives with her family in Fahrenzhausen

Karl grew up in Weng and has lived in Fahrenzhausen with her husband and adult daughter since 1996.

As a lawyer, she has held various management positions in the private sector for almost 20 years, has learned to motivate people to build bridges and open doors, can lead large units and knows how to react to challenges.

Now she is "ready to take responsibility for our community," emphasized Alexandra Karl.

The candidate is an organist, choir director and active in the Fahrenzhausen Music Association

Karl is always well connected: As a graduate of the Camerloher-Gymnasium in Freising, music is her great passion, which she has lived for over 30 years as an organist and choirmaster in the Fahrenzhausen-Haimhausen parish association and in the Fahrenzhausen music association.

In general, says Karl, she, who many years ago co-founded the dwarf group in Weng that still exists today, wants to promote voluntary work in clubs.

“Be active, get involved” is important.

Fahrenzhausen should continue to be attractive for young adults, seniors are Karl "a big concern".

Staying at home – for them, of course, that also means a clear no to the third runway.

Karl would see her work as mayor as follows: openness to new ideas, tolerance, listening and understanding.

Because: "We are all a community."

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

The reward for her application speech: Eight yes votes from the eight eligible voters and much applause from everyone present.

Also and especially from the Green Party member of parliament, Johannes Becher.

He had previously reminded that the reason why they met on Wednesday was a very sad one.

He got to know and appreciate Heinrich Stadlbauer in the defensive fight against the runway.

“But things have to go on – also for the municipality.” He knows very well that the mayor’s office is “not an easy task”, especially in a smaller municipality.

Legal expertise and the knowledge that "there is only one thing together" are of crucial importance.

District chief Breu said that Alexandra Karl had long considered whether she should start – “and that is also appropriate for the office”.

He is pleased that she has now agreed to take this step.

It was important for the Greens to nominate someone "who enjoys trust in Fahrenzhausen".
