The Ministry of Interior announced the extension of work in the directorates of civil status, civil registry centers and the criminal security administration and its branches in the governorates until six in the evening, with the aim of providing facilities to citizens wishing to obtain civil status documents and a summary of the criminal record in order to run for local council elections.
The ministry clarified in a statement that SANA received a copy of it today that the extension also includes the continuation of work in the aforementioned places on Friday and Saturday until the end of the nomination period for the local council elections.
Yesterday, President Bashar al-Assad issued Decree No. “216” for the year 2022 to set the eighteenth of next September as the date for the election of local council members.
