Due to urban planning concerns, the Hallbergmoos municipal council has rejected the expansion of the Rewe market on the main street.

A liquor store was planned.

Hallbergmoos

- In 2016, building rights were created for the supermarket with a sales area of around 1250 square meters with a project-related development plan.

If you were to build an extension with 700 square meters and 20 to 23 additional parking spaces, as requested by the operator, the green area on the southern property border would disappear completely.

Effects on the landscape rated negative

As early as 2016, however, the higher state planning authority pointed out that the open landscape space should be kept free of development.

In the environmental report, the effects on the landscape were rated negatively.

In order to mitigate them, a corresponding green order was established and the area was surrounded by hedges.

In addition, there is currently a lack of personnel capacity in the town hall

The building authority is critical of an extension: it would mean a change in the development plan.

The town hall currently lacks the personnel capacity for this.

There are also concerns about the further sealing, which would have to be compensated for with ecological compensation areas.

An increase in traffic and more noise is also to be expected.

By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.

Apart from that, as Mayor Josef Niedermair emphasized, there is no need for another drinks market in the town hall: within a radius of 1000 meters the population already has offers - in Edeka and in the form of the K+F drinks market.

The business development also points out that in a retail study from 2017, no passer-by asked for a drinks market.

"This should not have changed in 2022 either." The council unanimously rejected the plan change.
