If you come across a supposedly fallen traffic cone in a forest or field, you should not put it away.
Because it is often not there by accident.
Hesse - If there is a fire in a forest or field, quick help is called for.
Forest fires and wildfires, fueled by the wind, can spread quickly, particularly when the drought persists.
This is why many different fire brigades are usually required for such operations in order to bring the fire under control as quickly as possible.
But it's not always that easy: In the case of fires in forest areas, it's often not easy to find the scene, especially if you're not familiar with the area.
This is where aids such as folded traffic cones come into play: With their arrow shape, they then serve as signposts for the following fire brigades.
This is especially true in the densely wooded areas of Hesse.

Also in Hesse: cones help with forest fire operations, among other things
Due to the prolonged drought, there is currently a high risk of forest fires.
Since several fire brigades are usually present during such operations, the local fire brigade - which is most familiar with the local events - shows their subsequent comrades the way with the skittles.
This allows them to get to the scene faster.
Anyone who, as a walker or driver, sees a supposedly fallen traffic cone at a fork in the road or at a crossroads in the forest or on country lanes should simply leave it where it is.
