The Ministry of Transport announced that the Syrian ship Odyssia arrived today at the port of Tartus to begin unloading its cargo as scheduled, after being detained in Tripoli port for several days based on the allegations made by the Ukrainian ambassador in Beirut.
The ministry explained in a statement today that over the past few days, the ministry and the Syrian Corporation for Maritime Transport, "the governmental entity that owns the ship," in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, the Lebanese Ministry of Transport and Works, and those concerned in the port of Tripoli, have followed up the issue of the ship, which was carrying out a scheduled voyage.
The ministry indicated that the ship’s journey included the delivery of food supplies “flour” to one of the trading companies in brotherly Lebanon, and after that, it continued to unload its cargo in the Tartous port on a routine and usual basis.
The ministry indicated that the decision of the competent Lebanese judge, after examining the papers and credentials related to the ship, and all the necessary procedures in this regard, without reaching any of the allegations of the Ukrainian ambassador confirms the invalidity of everything that was plotted and fabricated and based on politicization and loyalty to the American administration and its allies in its war against Syria and its imposition of unjust coercive measures unilaterally. The Syrian people and their needs, which arrived to prevent and delay the arrival of foodstuffs to the port of Tartous.
In its statement, the ministry thanked all the efforts that contributed to revealing and clarifying the truth, and culminated in the return of the ship, stressing the continuation of its work and all other ships in securing the needs of the Syrian people and sailing according to the plans set for it.
