Officers of the Tseung Kwan O Police District Task Force were conducting anti-crime patrols in the area of Chi Shin Street yesterday (3rd), during which they found a man stealing goods from a supermarket at No. 19 Chi Shin Street.
Officers stopped him immediately and seized a batch of unpaid goods, including condoms, razor blades, lotion and XO sauce, worth about $4,230, and arrested him on suspicion of "shop theft" , brought back to the police station for detained investigation.
The arrested 31-year-old suspect is a Vietnamese man holding a street paper. Police investigations show that the suspect is also suspected of being involved in the theft of a supermarket at No. 8 Chonghua Road on July 30. The total value of property lost in the case is approximately 2,550 yuan.
The case was handed over to the Tseung Kwan O Police District Criminal Investigation Team for follow-up.
