Unknown persons carried out an arson attack on the Münchner Freiheit.
The camp of a homeless person was destroyed - the 50-year-old Andi probably only survived because he slept a few meters away from his usual sleeping place.
Munich – Even a day later he was still terrified.
Andi (50) looks down sadly.
Around him: burnt things everywhere.
The native of Munich actually lives here, where a fire raged on Wednesday night.
The street is his home, the Münchner Freiheit is basically his apartment.
But there's a lot going on there.
The police are now investigating arson.
"That was close," says Andi.
The 50-year-old from Munich has been living at the Münchner Freiheit for a long time.
According to the police, there was an arson attack there - right next to the chess board - on Wednesday around 3 a.m., which could have been fatal.
If Andi had slept there as usual.

"All my things were there, now everything is destroyed: clothes and wallet," says Andi.
"Now I have almost nothing left." According to the police, strangers had set fire to a box and then fled - in the middle of the night.
Andi was somehow lucky - he wasn't in his camp as usual, but was sleeping a few meters away.
"Otherwise I would probably be dead now," he says.
Munich: Perpetrators set homeless people on fire – residents called the police
According to the current state of investigation, the perpetrators had also specifically set fire to the bags with Andi's clothes - a 68-year-old resident had observed the arson and immediately called the police.
The officials later only found the burned camp of the homeless person at the Münchner Freiheit.
The police are now looking for the perpetrators, who were probably drunk.
Two men in their 30s are wanted.
One with a big belly, a mustache and a slouch hat, the other a southern European type, also with a mustache and a beige polo shirt.
