At least two migrants died and eight others were rescued off the Florida Keys, the Coast Guard reported Friday, which continues to search the area for more people.
In the last two days, at least 108 Cuban immigrants have arrived in Florida by sea in a dozen boats.
The Coast Guard reported on Friday the repatriation of 76 of them.
On July 30, 15 Cubans arrived in an artisanal boat to an uninhabited islet near Key West.
In the past fiscal year, which ended on September 30, 838 were intercepted.
The arrival of Cubans in the US has increased significantly since then: with more than 3,739 detained after crossing the strip that separates the island from Florida, according to the Coast Guard.
