They did it: 64 graduates of home economics and agriculture from the districts of Miesbach and Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen received their certificates at a ceremony.

Großweil/district

– Upper Bavaria counted 665 candidates in the fields of agriculture and home economics this year.

Around a tenth of them, namely those from the districts of Miesbach and Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen, have now been dismissed in the Kreut-Alm in Großweil: 27 vocational school graduates in home economics and 37 agricultural examinees.

Of these, 18 completed dual vocational training and 19 farmers with non-agricultural vocational qualifications were examined by the Almakademie Holzkirchen.

The professions that the women and men have chosen are “not just any”, said Peter Nawroth, head of the education department in agriculture and home economics at the government of Upper Bavaria.

These professions "represent the basis of society," he stressed.

"I am pleased that you were so courageous and took this path." In addition to Nawroth, the Tölz BBV district farmer Ursula Fiechtner was also on the list of speakers, who, like the Miesbach BBV district chairman Josef Huber, appealed to the graduates to learn.

Then they would become "the gold pieces of society."

Gisela Hammerschmid, Head of the Agricultural School in Holzkirchen, also emphasized several times that "all of life is a school".

But she also encouraged the graduates to celebrate first,

Sonja Feller, Chairwoman of the Home Economics Examination Committee, gave an insight into the exam period.

But more than that: Again and again, she pointed out with a wink and anything but subtle how well domestic and agricultural work go together and concluded that the practitioners of the professions also go together.

"I daad mediate between Deandln and Buam," she said with a smile and gave out a few red roses as a flirt suggestion.

Her colleague Nikolaus Riesch, Chairman of the Agricultural Examination Board, was less romantic.

"Today everything is ready, almost forgotten," he said.

However, the graduates should not forget that there is a great need for village and farm helpers.

"You don't earn much, but that's nothing new in farming," he added.

And despite all the potential adversities, he demanded: "Don't let it take away your enjoyment of your job!"

In the speeches of the graduates there was again a lot of humor.

For example, Leonhard Rieder, who completed the dual training as a leader (1.24), said that "Corona got in the way a little".

For the occasional online lessons, not everyone always seemed to be in top shape.

Some hangovers could be “covered up quite well”.

Martin Stahl from the Almakademie Holzkirchen described the online teaching units as “coming and going”, given the pitfalls of the technology, the unexpected logouts and sudden logins.

Stahl looked back in detail at the content of the training: company visits, fertility seminar, chainsaw course, block seminars.

And of course “the most brutal story”: the hoof care course with knuckles that are no longer quite fresh from the butcher.

Cigarettes or snuff against the stench?

"Didn't help anything."

However, to all appearances, the year survived, a year that initially appeared to Stahl as a colorful bunch of "Hanswurschtn", tax consultants, carpenters, hunters, cooks, married people, lovers and single people.

But as far as the latter group of people is concerned, the examiner and “procurator” Sonja Feller should certainly be able to change something in the relationship status.
