The Schliersee-Bayrischzell train route has been closed since Thursday.

When it will be released is uncertain.

The rail replacement service is also shaking.

Schliersee/Bayrischzell – The train service between Schliersee and Bayrischzell has been at a standstill since Thursday evening due to track work scheduled by DB Netz at short notice.

The BRB has used a rail replacement service, which can be incomplete due to personnel problems at the executing companies and sometimes runs at different times than the trains.

The company therefore asks travelers to check current information on the timetables via its website at www.brb.de, via app or on the BRB pages in the social media before starting their journey.

The closure should represent a further burden for the Leitzachtal, which is already plagued by traffic due to the closure in Hausham.

It is not certain how long the ban will last.

On its website, the BRB names August 8th as the date.

When asked, press spokeswoman Annette Luckner emphasized that this information could be pushed forward or, more likely, backward.

“We always have to wait and see how the work progresses.

At some point, DB Netz will release the route.

But it is very difficult for us to estimate when that will be.”

The cause of the closure is road damage, says Luckner.

She couldn't give more details because she didn't know.

DB Netz spoke to the company about a track fault, the umbrella term used in this situation for all damage to the roadway.

DB Netz did not comment on the construction work to our newspaper.

As is usual with her in such situations, she left one request unanswered.

Not all trains may be replaced

Since Friday, 2 p.m., three large taxis and one bus have been operating the rail replacement service.

According to Luckner, the fact that large-capacity taxis are mainly used is due to personnel problems in the haulage companies.

In addition to the well-known shortage of skilled workers, many bus drivers would have taken vacation in the summertime, since fewer drivers are needed due to the lack of school transport.

In addition, there were sick reports due to Corona.

If another driver reports sick, replacements are scarce, says Luckner.

She emphasizes that the BRB is “trying” to have rail replacement services.

She expressly avoids a guarantee that all trains will be replaced.

Luckner: "Whenever construction sites are announced at such short notice, it presents us with immense difficulties."

However, Luckner understands that DB Netz has not planned the measure in the long term.

“If you notice the problem, it has to be done.

Safety is the top priority.” That makes business extremely difficult for us.

The dilapidated condition of the route to Bayrischzell is well known.

The slow-moving report that Deutsche Bahn sends to train drivers every week currently lists three places between Fischhausen-Neuhaus and Geitau stations with a total length of 600 meters where trains have to slow down to 20 kilometers per hour due to roadway defects.

It is not known whether one of these bodies is now responsible for the construction site.

DB Netz did not comment on this either.
