Chat logs have yet to be evaluated.

Evidence belonging to Ayleen was secured in his apartment near Wetzlar.

"The allegations are confiscation of minors, sexual assault and murder with intent to cover up," said Franziska Scheuble, the investigating senior public prosecutor in Freiburg.

The suspect denies the crime and makes use of his right to remain silent.

According to the police and the public prosecutor's office, the suspect is known to the police.

At the age of 14, the suspect attacked an eleven-year-old girl from behind.

In 2007 he was convicted and placed in a psychiatric hospital for ten years.

In 2017, the suspect was released from the correctional facility and placed under supervision for five years.

According to the police's previous findings, Ayleen was taken to Hesse by the alleged perpetrator in a car on Thursday evening (July 21).

According to the investigators, it is initially unclear whether the girl got into the car of her own free will.

On the night of July 22, Ayleen and the suspect are said to have stayed longer at the lake.

On July 29, Ayleen was found dead.

Mobile phone data would indicate that "something happened" on the night of July 21-22, according to senior public prosecutor Thomas Hauburger.
