The 28-year-old was sentenced to ten months in prison on Thursday. At the end of June, the man from Guadeloupe had assaulted an 80-year-old man.

A prison guard was sentenced on Thursday August 4 by the Paris Criminal Court to a ten-month prison sentence.

This 28-year-old man appeared for having, in June in Vincennes (Val-de-Marne), stolen the car of an old gentleman before embarking on a chase with the police in the center of Paris.

That day in a street in Vincennes, an old gentleman meets a vagrant and opens his car to give him a coin.

But the ungrateful man sticks a knife in his hand and threatens him with a tear gas canister before stealing his Peugeot.

Grilled red lights, cycle paths…

Shortly after, the criminal crosses the police rue de Rivoli in Paris (Ier-IVe), who notice that he has just run a red light.

Officials chase him.

The driver flees through other lights and rolls on the bike lane before being stopped.

He is taken into custody at the police station.

This prison administration officer on availability following a motorcycle accident left Guadeloupe for treatment in France.

But arrived in Paris, he does not go to the hospital and survives in the street.

"I didn't think this man was 80 because he had an iPhone 13"

During the hearings, the suspect refuses to speak.

He is presented before the Parisian judges who order the dismissal so that a psychiatric expertise is carried out.

But this Thursday it was not made and the president finally decides to do without it.

On the screen of the courtroom in videoconference, the young man seems disconnected.

"I didn't think this man was 80 because he had an iPhone 13," he said.

Asked about the reasons that led him to commit this "car jacking" his explanations leave you speechless.

“I felt alone, I wanted to see my family,” he replies.

Personality disorders

His lawyer recalls that his client is an orphan, that he suffers from psychological problems and notes that the psychiatric expertise requested in this case has not been carried out, which is detrimental to his client.

The prosecutor notices that the profession of this man is incompatible with a car theft with violence.

Then he recalls that the weapons were found in the car and that the scene was filmed by surveillance video cameras.

He was kept in detention.
