My first reaction is naturally very negative.
Without commenting on the specific merits of this case, I note that once again justice is irresponsibly preventing politicians from acting for the common good.
But that goes back a long way.
As early as 1978, in a decision known as “GISTI”, the administrative judge had already prevented the Raymond Barre government from abolishing family reunification, which had however only been decreed by the Chirac government 4 years earlier.
Since then, other judges have rushed into the breach and the Constitutional Council…
